“The night symbolizes the illusion of our lives. “
For “exterior night” , title of the exhibition, Christophe Dugied develops his work around industrial sites in the North of France and Belgium. Abandoned or temporarily dormant, these places are the perfect backdrop to set up a shadow theater. “These architectural spaces emptied of all human presence attract me by their purely transitory nature , ” explains Christophe Dugied.
“I like to walk at night since the age of fourteen. This corresponds to the time when I had a moped. I discovered then the neighborhoods of the suburbs and Paris . ”
Christophe Dugied (1960, Metz) lives and works in Paris.
