Louis HEILBRONN

Louis Heilbronn (born May 5, 1988) is a French-American photographer based in New York. He is known for his style of flow of consciousness and his “chronicles of the ordinary”.

Heilbronn graduated from Bard College in 2010, where he studied with Stephen Shore. After college, he moved to Jerusalem where he refined the foundations of his aesthetic, which he described as being “a stranger both mentally and physically”. The following year, he began traveling through the villages of France and the United States. From these trips was born his first solo exhibition called Meet Me on the Surface, at the Polaris Gallery in Paris in 2013. After this exhibition, Heilbronn is named among the young talents of the magazine Dazed and Confuses for Paris Photo in 2013 ⁶. Her second exhibition, From Flowers and More, takes place at the Polaris Gallery in 2014. Brigitte Ollier, art critic for the newspaper Liberation, describes the images as “all endowed with a captivating power”, while Claire Guillot du Monde speaks of a charm coming from their elusive nature. In 2014 Heilbronn receives the prize Art and Science of the Lotos Club in New York. In 2015, the British Journal of Photography names him among “Ones to Watch”.
